Sybylle Peretti

Peretti works with glass and pigment, but honestly I'm not sure how. It seems like the pigment could be painted on, but there is more to it. The work is about connection and abandonment on some level. Like my own work there is a recurring theme of honeycombs that tie it all together. The rendered portraits capture likeness as though it is actually stolen from the subject. The high gloss of the glass lends an almost sickly look to the children. I feel uplifted and depressed at the same time while looking at this work. Here's her gallery's website:
